TAURELLI Antonio

Born in Anzio in 1994, he attended the Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, where he graduated in the 2018/2019 academic year with a degree in Law with a mark of 110/110 cum laude and special mention, discussing a thesis in criminal law entitled 'L'imputabilità, un istituto in bilico tra diritto positivo e conoscenze scientifiche' (Imputability, an institute poised between positive law and scientific knowledge). During his time at university, he took part in didactic tutoring activities at the Rebibbia prison for inmates enrolled in the Faculty of Law.
He practised law at the Avvocatura Generale dello Stato. In the meantime, he did his eighteen-month internship at the Third Criminal Section of the Supreme Court of Cassation dealing mainly with environmental crimes. He is qualified to practise the legal profession and was enrolled in the Rome Bar Association in 2023.
He is a lecturer in criminal law at the Luiss University.
Since December 2021 he has been a PhD student in criminal law at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa with a research project entitled 'Ecocide and new frontiers for the protection of the planet. A perspective for international criminal law of the environment'.
During his PhD, he spent several months of research time in Germany at the Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg, in France at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and in Milan at the legal department of ENI S.p.a.
