Francesco Camplani was born in Rome on 30 June 1990. After graduating from the Liceo "Aristofane" in Rome, he graduated cum laude in Law at the University "La Sapienza" on 10 March 2016, with a thesis entitled "The problem of supervision of compliance programmes in the Italian and German systems". During his university studies, he spent two periods at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich: the first, as an Erasmus student; the second, as a scholarship holder for his thesis, hosted by Prof. Dr. Helmut Satzger.
On 22 June 2021, Francesco Camplani obtained his PhD at the University of Naples "Parthenope", writing, under the direction of Prof. Alberto De Vita, a thesis entitled "Preventive criminal protection of the legal asset environment through waste management offences. Towards a circular economy". As a Visiting PhD Scholar, he visited the Universities of Innsbruck (Prof. Margareth Helfer) and Munich (Prof. Dr. Satzger).
Francesco Camplani has also practised law and completed, with an "excellent" rating, the apprenticeship ex art. 73 at the VI criminal section of the Court of Cassation, under the guidance of Cons. Mirella Agliastro; he works as an expert in the subject at the chair of Prof. Maria Beatrice Magro, University "G. Marconi" of Rome.
